Three Simple Ways To Wash Those Blues Away

Do you feel depressed all of a sudden?  Or are you, perhaps, experiencing a sudden rush of euphoria at the thought of going shopping?  Do you long to feel the warmth of your loved one today?  Are you feeling ecstatic about your first day of school?

Well, trying to be in a perfect mood everyday is almost next to impossible.  After all, our unique  biological composition sets us up for occasional mood swings and insecurities. Especially if you are a teen or a menopausal woman, hormonal imbalances internally can cause us to be unable to control our emotions.

Aside from the biological factor, our environment also plays a big part in either making us grow as a moody person or not.  The support you get from your family and the feeling of acceptance from your friends improves the state of your mind as you encounter situations that can, perhaps, affect your disposition negatively.

So how do you counter a sudden feeling of rage or restlessness? Well, start by avoiding things, people or places that will trigger such emotional response.  For music buffs, having great music from your iPod or cellphone ringtones help alleviate your depressive state.  For food lovers, buying yourself a slice of that chocolate cake will help correct your mood because of mood-elevating chemicals that are released in response to this stuff and others.

Think positively. “Fake it till you make it”, as they say.  My sister who works at the Samsung helpline centre nearby finds these very effective.  Focus on how much you will end the day on a positive note and relive happy moments inside your head, such as your encounter with your crush or that awesome outing you had with your colleagues.

Finally, work out those blues away.  Exercise, so to speak! Boosting your physical energy will also boost your mental and emotional resistance, studies show. And when you couple that with having a gulp of your favourite yoghurt or energy drink, it might already be more than enough to turn your bad mood around.
